Julie Hale, MA, MFT, RYT
Julie Hale is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT #52246) and a Yoga Alliance certified yoga instructor (RYT). She obtained her BS in Communications from the University of Texas in Austin, and her Masters degree in psychology from Antioch University in Los Angeles. As a student of yoga for over 18 years, Julie attained her teaching certificate in order to support her counseling work. She began her clinical career at Vista Del Mar Child and Family Services, working with at risk youth in a school setting for 6 years before moving into private practice. Julie also teaches yoga and meditation
Julie’s focus in her private psychotherapy practice is to assist clients in discovering their innate strengths to more effectively manage their own lives. She believes that if you can attune yourself to your inner intuition, that you will find you already have the innate intelligence to answer the issues that arise in life. Julie uses a variety of methods to empower clients, including attachment, behavioral and psychodynamic theory, as well as drawing from yogic philosophy. Julie believes that mindfulness and breath work can be very instrumental in assisting clients in creating healthier functioning on their life path. Treatment plans are tailored to the individual, a process that occurs ‘in the moment’ in session.
From her life experience and training, Julie realizes that tasks are best accomplished with a healthy perspective and a dash of humor. One of her favorite quotes is “Life is too important to be taken seriously”. Therefore, while any psychotherapeutic endeavor can involve deep and challenging work, it doesn’t mean that it can’t have elements of fun and joy at the same time.
